Asaam to get a computer block

Asaam (Ash), Aug 20, GNA – Nana Obea Brenya II, the Queenmother of Asaam neat Asante Mampong, has cut a sod for work to begin on a computer block for Asaam.

The Queenmother is financing the project that will cost 500 million cedis and it will be completed by the end of the year. She made a personal donation of five computers and its accessories valued at 20 million cedis to the Asaam Community Basic School. The gift, she said, was a manifestation of her desire to assist expose the youth in the area to be computer literate.

Nana Obea Brenya said she had begun stockpiling computers to be used to stock the computer block on completion and urged parents to give priority to their children’s education.

”Quality education is the key to individuals and national development.”

Mr Paul Boateng, the Circuit Supervisor for Kofiase-Asaam who received the computers, thanked the Queenmother for the donation. He appealed to parents to work in concert with teachers to promote teaching and learning in the area.
