Fake insurance agent in police grips.

Tema, Aug 17, GNA – A 53-year-old insurance agent has been arrested by the Tema Regional Police Command for allegedly dealing in fake insurance documents.

Behind bars with Emmanuel Owusu of Nkonya is Miss Agnes Owusu, his 25-year-old daughter who is his secretary.

Assistant Commission of Police Daniel Odai, the Tema Regional Police Commander, said policemen on duty at the Kpone barrier on Monday intercepted a taxi driven by one Nii Adjei. An insurance sticker affixed on the windscreen of the taxi, attracted suspension and the police called for the insurance documents covering the vehicle.

When the driver produced the documents, the police crosschecked them with Network Assurance Company but the documents were found to be fake. The taxi driver mentioned Owusu as the one who issued him with the documents.

Owusu, who operates an office at Tema New Town called Business Secretarial and Consultancy, also claims to be a Commission of Oaths.
