President Urges Health Professionals To Stay

President J.A. Kufuor yesterday called on students in the health training institutions to stay in the country after completing their courses and help to develop Ghana.

He was unhappy that most health professionals leave the country for greener pastures abroad after the nation had used its meagre resources to train them.

President Kufuor was addressing students of the Alive School of Nursing at Esiama last Monday as part of his working tour of Western Region. He said it was important that the students have some sense of sacrifices as people who have had moral instructions and help to develop Ghana.

President Kufuor who also inspected work on a ?3.5 billion hotel facility for the school and a ?1.9 billion two-storey classroom block, assured them of government?s continued support.

The principal of the school, Mrs Sabina Abena Bilson, thanked the government for the support and appealed for more teachers and a bus.

President Kufuor later addressed a durbar of chiefs and people of Nzema East District where he thanked them for their support.
