Help check youth involvement in armed robberies

Bekwai (Ash), Aug 15, GNA – An Anglican priest has appealed to parents to monitor the activities of their children as well as the type of friends they make to help check youth involvement in armed robberies and other social vices.

Venerable John Kingsley Mensah, the Archdeacon of the Bekwai Archdeaconry of the Anglican Church, said this at the installation of new officers for the Women’s Fellowship of the Saint Francis Parish of the church at Bekwai.

The nine-member executive has Miss Georgina Adu Ampomah as President, Miss Mercy Dufie Oppong, Vice President and Doris Agyeiwaah, Secretary.

Venerable Mensah told the women to protect their children from ungodly influences by being aware of Satan’s attempts to destroy them spiritually through attractions of the world and immoral companions. Mrs Perpetual Owusu-Karikari, the immediate past president of the fellowship, said the experience she had gained as president for six years would be put at the disposal of the new officers to help the growth of the fellowship.

She said the fellowship would assist in the training of women groups to empower them economically.
