Accra, Aug. 15, GNA – Mrs Dorothy Gordon, Director-General of Advanced Information Technology Institute (AITI), on Monday urged the youth to take up Information Technology (IT) as a profession. She said there were many job opportunities for IT professionals adding, “any IT person who claims to be unemployed must have a personal problem”.
Mrs Gordon, who was addressing participants at a special IT Seminar delivered in French at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in Accra, entreated the participants to aspire towards meeting global Information Communication Technology (ICT) standards. A statement from the Centre said the seminar offered more than 45 francophone students, who had interest in ICT and were currently studying in Ghana, the opportunity to improve their competency levels and prospects of a career in ICT.
The participants were mainly from Alliance Francaise, the Centre for Languages and Professional Studies and Saint Pierre Claver French School.
It said the training was in line with the AITI’s commitment to expanding the opportunity for young people to use the world-class facility.
