Police recruits pass out at Ho

Ho, Aug. 8, GNA – Mr Emmanuel B. Ansong, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of the Volta Region, has said the country’s constitutional dispensation makes unjustifiable arrests and detention of suspects especially at weekends unlawful. He said this at the passing out parade of 78 General Police Recruits at the Police Depot in Ho.

Mr Ansong reminded the recruits of the challenging nature of the profession that is fraught with temptations, public criticisms and frustrating situations.

“However if you are fair, honest in your decision making and judgement, you will achieve self-realisation, self-gratification and pride,” Mr Ansong said.

Ramstone Quarshie Gadzo received the baton of honour for emerging as the best all-round recruit.

Other award winners were Gidmajor Amatey Daddah, best conduct, Emmanuel Simpson, best marksman, Nuhu Zakaria, best in drill, and Kwame Adu Amankwah Karikari, special award.

The recruits were taught criminal law, criminal procedure, criminal investigation, law of evidence, community policing, practical police duties, and criminology, social psychology and police ethics.
