Accra, Aug 8, GNA – Mrs Henrietta Naa Akuyea Kisseh, Founder of the Kissberg Foundation, a Non-governmental Organisation based in Georgia in the United States of America on Monday, presented a wheel-chair valued at 800 Dollars to Mr Emmanuel Ashie Neequaye Amon, a cripple teacher and proprietor of the Christ the King of Kings School at the James Town, in Accra.
Speaking at the presentation, she said the donation was part of the Foundation’s social responsibility to promote the welfare of the physically challenged to enable them to realise their potentials. Mrs Kisseh gave the assurance that similar donations and hospital equipment and drugs would be made to the James Town Clinic and the Ussher Clinic and Maternity Home soon.
The Foundation would also assist fishmongers in the area with a giant gas oven estimated at 500 dollars to boast their operations. Mrs Kisseh said the Foundation assisted fishermen and fishmongers in the area with a number of items, including 1,000 Chorkor Fish Smokers, uniforms and eye protectors early this year.
It also constructed a shed at the Jamestown beach and provided a quantity of paint for the rehabilitation of 35 canoes free of charge. Mrs Kisseh said a branch of the NGO would be opened in Ghana soon to promote the welfare of women and children.
Mr Neequaye Amon, thanked the Foundation for the gesture and appealed for educational materials and teaching aids for the school. He also asked the NGO for support to renovate the school building to promote teaching and learning. 08 Aug. 05
