GBA commended for role in democratic dispensation.

Takoradi, July 30, GNA – Mr Joseph Boahen Aidoo, the Western Regional Minister, has commended members of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) for their complementary role in ensuring that true democracy became functional in the country. He said the association must continue to cooperate with the government and other stakeholders to ensure that justice, fair play, human rights are perpetuated in all sectors of the society.

Mr Aidoo was speaking at a cocktail party organised by the Western Region branch of the GBA to mark the end of the legal year at Takoradi on Friday. The Regional Minister reminded members of the association of their roles to ensure peace among the people to enhance the region’s accelerated development. “My office, the Bench and Bar are pursuing one goal to achieve peace and justice for all manner of people to enhance the region’s development”, Mr. Aidoo said.

Madam Lucy Blay, Regional President of the GBA, said the association would continue to work closely with the Regional Coordinating Council and members of other professions and government institutions to achieve progress for the people of the region.
