Ahafo-Ano North district assembly confirms President’s nominee

Tepa (Ash), July 22, GNA – The Ahafo-Ano North District Assembly on Friday confirmed Nana Eric Agyemang Prempeh as the District Chief Executive. He polled 44 out of the 49 votes cast with five against at the poll conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Speaking after the poll, Mr. Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister, commended the assembly members for endorsing the President’s nominee.

He stressed the need for them to work in unity to quicken the pace of development of the area.

In his acceptance speech, Nana Agyemang Prempeh thanked the President for nominating him and his colleagues for confirming him and pledged to work with all the people for the development of the district. Until his nomination and confirmation, Nana Agyemang Prempeh, 31, was the Presiding Member of the assembly.

Some District Chief Executives witnessed the election from the Ashanti, Brong-Ahafo and Volta regions.
