Central Region tender review board inaugurated

Cape Coast, July 20, GNA – The Central regional Minister, Mr Isaac Edumadze, on Tuesday inaugurated a nine-member Tender Review Board for the Region with a call on the members to ensure that the government’s policy of effective and efficient utilization of the nation’s resources was achieved.

The Board, which has Mr Ebow Dawson, private legal practitioner as chairman, would among other things, supervise the Regional Tender Board, by reviewing contracts and projects submitted by the districts and organisational Tender Committees.

Other members are, Mr Asare Sintim, Regional Trade Officer, Mr Michael Essandoh, Regional Coordinating Director, Dr Aaron Ofei, Regional Director of Health Services, Mr Michael Abbey, Director of the Ghana Highway Authority and Mr Alex Poku Boamah, Economic Planning Officer.

The rest are Mr Amoo Baffoe, Regional Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Mrs Pat Klinogo, State Attorney and Mrs Justina Torjagbo, Regional Director of Education. Mr Edumadze stressed the need for the Board to adhere to the Procurement Act Bill and the Internal Audit Control Act, which sought to codify the processes and procedures for the award of contracts to ensure that, purchases were regulated.

He urged them to make “transparency and accountability” their watchwords.

Mr Dawson expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in them and promised that they would work diligently and within the confines of rules governing the discharge of their duties.
