Assembly confirms Amansie West DCE

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), July 19, GNA – The Amansie West District Assembly on Tuesday unanimously confirmed Mr Ben Kwakye-Adeefe as the District Chief Executive (DCE).

He polled 58 out of the 60 votes cast at the election conducted by officials of the Electoral Commission.

Eleven members of the Assembly, however, failed to turn up to vote. No reasons were assigned for their refusal to turn up. Speaking after the poll, Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister, commended the Assembly members for their show of confidence in the DCE.

He urged them to continue to give the DCE the co-operation that they gave him during his first term in office to ensure the development of the District in a peaceful atmosphere.

In his acceptance speech, the DCE thanked the members for their support and confidence in him and promised to step up the development of the District.
