Lartey-Akuapem (E/R), July 16, GNA- The Anglican Bishop of Koforidua, the Rt. Rev. Francis Benjamin Quashie, has called on Christians to pray continuously for the Church and the country for the moral upliftment of the people.
He cited the legalisation of lesbianism and gay marriages in some industrialized countries, which he noted was threatening the unity of the Christian Church in those countries and warned that if care was not taken, such practices could easily find their way into the churches in the country.
Rt. Rev. Quashie was speaking at the formal opening of the 15th Diocesan Conference of the St. Mary’s Guild of the Anglican Church at Larteh-Akuapem on Saturday.
He called on the Guild to use its conference to set up a project that they would do to help development of the church. Rev. Fr. R.O. Ankrah of the Kibi Parish of the Anglican Church, called on Christians who want to embark on missionary work to first change their bad old lifestyles to win people for Christ, “not by their words but by the ways they live among them.”
He said it was only assurance of new converts of better ways of life for accepting Christ that would make them to accept Christianity.
