Wa Municipal endorses President’s nominee

Wa, July 12, GNA – The Wa Municipal Assembly on Monday confirmed Mr Mark Adams Banda, a 45-year-old administrator, as the Municipal Chief Executive with all the 25 votes going in his favour.

The assembly failed to elect a Presiding Member after none of the contestants obtained the required two-third majority at the end of two rounds of voting.

Mr Ambrose Dery, the Upper West Regional Minister, inaugurated the assembly and appealed to members to set aside partisan considerations and see the development of the municipality as their major goal. He said debating on trivial issues and spending valuable time on bickering would defeat the purpose of the assembly.
