Boy gets six months for stealing eggs

Twifo Praso (C/R), July 12, GNA – Kwame Adamu, a 19-year-old boy, was on Monday sentenced to six months imprisonment by a district magistrate’s court for stealing eight crates of eggs valued at 280,000 cedis.

Adamu, jointly charged with one Kwabena Amos, who is on the run, pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and stealing and pleaded with the court to be lenient with him.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector George Okine told the court that, on July 02, Adamu and Amos broke into the shop of one Mr Kwasi Oduro at Twifo-Praso and made away with the eggs. He said Adamu was arrested but Amos escaped.
