World Visions Donates to Nadowli & Jirapa Hospitals

Nadowli, July 8 GNA – World Vision International on Friday donated items valued at seventy million cedis to the Jirapa and Nadowli hospitals and 23 individuals from Nadowli and Jirapa/Lambussie Districts.

The items included 23 wheel chairs for persons with disabilities, eight doctors’ examination beds and assorted medical equipment for both hospitals.

Mr. Isaac Annang, Acting Programme Manager of World Vision International at Nadowli, who presented the items said they were a donation from gifts in kind (GIK) an overseas non-governmental organisation.

He promised to liaise with the NGO to bring more assistance to the people in the fields of Health, Education and Agriculture and urged them to make maximum use of the items to encourage the donors to assist others.

Mr. Annang called on the beneficiaries not to attempt to sell the items since that could cast a slur on their reputation and block the chances of others.

Dr. Mohammadu Mahama, Medical Director of the Jirapa hospital who received the items on behalf of others promised to put them to good use. He said the Health sector was saddled with problems of logistics and with the donation, some of their problems would be solved. He however appealed to other philanthropists to assist them to solve their problems.
