President Rawlings is not dead:

Mr. Kooby Koomson, Ghana Ambassador to the United States yesterday in Dallas, Texas confirmed that the President Rawlings is not dead. He also Inform the gathering that President Jerry John Rawlings will pay a visit to The United States from Friday April 23 to Thursday, April 29, 1999. The Visit is at the invitation of the Conference of Black Mayors and Corporate Council of Africa (CCA).

H.E. The President will be in Denver, Colorado from April 23-26 as the special Guest of Honor at the Conference of Black Mayors. The President will proceed to Houston on April 26 to participate in a conference on “Attracting Capital to Africa” being organized by the CCA. He will receive a “Global Marketplace Award” on behalf of Ghana for its efforts to establish sound economic policies and a transparent commercial environment at a Gala Dinner on April 27, 1999.
According to Ambassador Kobby Koomson the President Jerry John Rawlings will also address the Ghanaian Communities in Denver and Houston.
