Association marks Republic Day with clean-up

Kumasi, July 1, GNA – The Ashanti Region branch of the Ga Dangbe Association on Friday undertook a clean-up exercise at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi as part of the Republic Day celebration.

Members of the association numbering about 100, scrubbed the floors, swept and removed cobwebs at the main ward of the hospital. Mr Albert Nartey, chairman of the association said the exercise, which is the first to be undertaken by the association forms part of their contribution to the social development of the region and enhancement of cleanliness at the hospital. He said apart from clean-up exercises, the association also plans to donate blood to the blood banks of the various hospitals starting with the KATH before the end of the year.

Mr Okyere Yeboah, head of Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit of KATH, expressed his gratitude to the association and said his unit will continue to ensure good sanitation at the hospital.
