Two armed suspected arrested

Suhum (E/R), June 24, GNA – The Suhum Police have arrested two suspected armed robbers, Hussein Buneyaminu Yusif, 32-year-old driver and Charles William Awudu, a 43-year-old labourer.

A spokesman for the police said on June 20, armed robbers attacked a bus with 23 passengers travelling from Accra to Kumasi and robbed the passengers of million of cedis and personal effects. The spokesman said armed robbery is on the rise in Suhum and the police have launched special operation to combat it. He said the robbers block the road with objects, compelling the drivers to stop.
