Assembly endorses DCE

Dambai, (V/R), June 23, GNA-The Krachi-East District Assembly at a special meeting on Tuesday endorsed Mr. Michael Yaw Gyato, 35, a Teacher as the first District Chief Executive of the newly created district. He got all the votes of the 19 members present out of the 20-member assembly.

Mr. Gyato said the 100 per cent endorsement of his nomination had set the tone for a smooth take off for the district and also sent a signal to the President that the people were ready for work and therefore deserved attention. He called for concerted effort from stakeholders, including traditional authorities to ensure rapid development of the district.

Mr. Wisdom Gidisu, Krachi-East Member of Parliament (MP) and Mr. Patrick Jilima, Presiding Member expressed gratitude at the smooth endorsement process and called for the same spirit of oneness to characterize all deliberations at the assembly.

Mr. Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister, appealed to all ethnic groupings in the area to form a common front to ensure peace in the area.
