Court remands purchasing clerk

Mankranso (Ash), June 23, GNA- A magistrate court at Mankranso on Wednesday remanded in prison a 54-year-old purchasing clerk, stationed at Awuakrom near Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano North district of Ashanti, for fraud.

Agyemang Sarpong Boateng pleaded guilty and will re-appear on June 28.

Police Inspector Edwin Dei-Offei told the court, presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that last year, Mr Enock Kofi Taah, a purchasing clerk at Akuafo Adamfo, a private cocoa buying company at Awuakrom, gave Boateng 16.8 million cedis to purchase 30 bags of cocoa for the company.
