Daily Graphic Political Editor escapes death

Tema, June 20, GNA – One died on the spot at the weekend when a Mercedes Benz saloon car with registration number ER 2296 U collided with a Neoplan bus with registration number GR 4265 D at the Wayss and Freitag Construction Junction on the Tema-Akosombo Road.

The driver of the Benz saloon car was identified as Mr Dzansi Azarlo, a prosecutor of the Nungua branch of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), whiles Mr Kofi Akordor, the Political Editor of the Daily Graphic who was in the same car with him also got injured.

A Police statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Nketiah Yeboah indicated that the saloon car was travelling from Akosombo towards Accra, around 2000 hours on Saturday, whiles the Neoplan bus was coming from Accra on route to Kete Krachi. It said the saloon car run into a ditch after the head on collision and the driver died instantly. Those injured including the driver of the Neoplan bus were rushed to the Tema General, 37 Military and Korle-Bu Teaching hospitals for treatment.
