Kpando district confirms DCE

Kpando, June 16, GNA – Mr Pious Adanuti, on Thursday polled 39 out of 43 votes, representing 90.7 per cent, to gain approval of the Kpando District Assembly as the District Chief Executive (DCE). Mr Adanuti, who was the immediate past Kpando DCE, is an Educationist.
Mr Adanuti took the oath of office and secrecy administered by Mr Kofi Dorgu, a Kpando Circuit Court Judge. He thanked the President for re-nominating him and the assembly members for the trust reposed in him and pledged to work in the interest of the Kpando District and Ghana as a whole.
Mr Kofi Dzamesi, the Volta Regional Minister, expressed joy at indications of non-partisan approach to the approval of DCEs in the region. He said the trend now was for the assembly members to assess nominees by their capacity to perform and not on which party they belonged to.
Mr Dzamesi appealed to assembly members to work as a team and eschew negative tendencies that would thwart their collective efforts to pursue policies that would bring development to the district.
