Fifty-one-year old unemployed convicted of defilement

Takoradi, June 10, GNA – Takoradi Circuit Court “A” on Friday sentenced John Eshun, a 51-year-old unemployed, to 10 years imprisonment in hard labour for defiling a 13-year-old girl. The accused pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor said the accused, who lived in the same vicinity with the victim, lured her into his room, defiled her and gave her 5,000 cedis and warned her not to tell anybody what had taken place between them or she would die. Chief Inspector Hedidor said the accused defiled the victim on three other occasions and gave 3,000 cedis after each act. But the victim reported the accused to her aunt and she informed the police.
