Stock Index slumps as poor showing of bourse continues

Accra, June 8, GNA – The key indicator of the Ghana Stock Exchange, the All-Share Index dropped by .55 points from 6,033.06 points to 6,032.51 points during Wednesday trading as investors continued to shy away from the market.

Change for the year to date went further into the red at – 11.27 per cent. There were two price changes – one positive and one negative. Paterson Zochonis (PZ) gained one cedi at 6,001 cedis while Starwin Products Limited (SPL) lost 20 cedis at 700 cedis. Market capitalisation went down from 95,004.26 billion cedis on Monday to 95,002.81 billion cedis. Traded volumes also sunk to 73,900 from Monday’s 161,200 shares.
