Boy, 14 shot dead at Adansi-Brofoyedru

Adansi-Brofoyedru (Ash), June 6, GNA – Grief and anguish have gripped the family of Master Kwabena Ofori-Agyemang, a 14-year-old pupil of Brofoyedru Roman Catholic Primary School in the Adansi North district who was found dead in an orange farm at the outskirt of the town. The boy was allegedly shot dead by one Kwame Nsiah shortly after he returned from school on Tuesday, May 31.

Nsiah, 24, who reportedly fled to Techimantia in the Brong-ahafo region, later surrendered to the Kumasi Central Police. He is currently in police custody at Fomena.

The deceased, together with his two friends were reported have gone to the farm to pluck some oranges when he was shot. One of his friends, who escaped with gunshot wounds, was receiving treatment at the AngloGold Ashanti hospital at Obuasi. Narrating his ordeal to newsmen at Brofoyedru, Opanin Kofi Mensah, the father of the deceased, said his son returned from school on that Tuesday at about 1430 hours and assisted him to work on a leaking roof. He said after the work, he sent the boy to buy him gari but that was the last time he saw him.
