Akim Obompe (E/R), June 4, GNA – Teachers in the Akim Obompe Salvation Army Primary School have threatened to boycott classes if nothing was done by opinion leaders to stop the classrooms being turned into public places of convenience by some unscrupulous youths. Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Akim Abompe on Friday, the Headteacher of the school, Mr Clement Asare Nkafo said the situation was making teaching and learning very difficult for both teachers and pupils.
According to him, they had reported the unhealthy conditions in the school to the chief of the town, Nana Darkwa Bon II, who had promised to deal with it but regretted that nothing had been done to check it. Mr Nkafo attributed the incident to the lack of locks for the classrooms, thus allowing the intrusion by the “rogues” to perpetrate their activities.
He has, therefore, appealed to the Fanteakwa District Assembly and the Salvation Army Educational Unit to come to their aid before the situation got out of hand. June 4, 05
