Civil servants demand pay raise, Govt Silent

The Civil Servants Association of Ghana is demanding increased salaries from the government.

The Executive Secretary of the Civil Servants Association Smart Chigabatia made the demand at a press conference in Accra.

He accused government of discriminating against civil servants by paying them low salaries compared to their counterparts from other sectors.

Mr. Chigabatia said several petitions presented to government to correct the distortions in their salary levels have received no response.

He said he wanted government to explain its silence.
