Assemblyman funds water project

Krofu (C/R), May 24, GNA – The assemblyman for Krofu electoral area, Mr Robert Koomson, has provided a hand-dug well at a cost of four million cedis for the Krofu Community, near Mankessim. Krofu is one of the communities in Mfantseman district that face perennial water problems.

Speaking at a fundraising harvest organised by the youth of the town to raise money for construction of boreholes to complement Mr Koomson’s gesture, Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, the District Chief Executive for Mfantseman, appealed to the youth to direct their energy towards projects which could benefit their people, instead of wasting them on unproductive activities.

He announced that the assembly had approved two ten-seater KVIPs from the HIPC Fund for the town and said construction would start as soon as the fund was released to the assembly. The DCE and Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, MP for Mfantseman West, who could not attend the function, donated 20 bags of cement each for the water project.
