Court remands unemployed for stealing

New Edubiase (Ash), May 24, GNA-The New Edubiase District court on Friday remanded in police custody a 30-year-old unemployed, Kofi Abeli for stealing.

He pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on June 2.

Police Chief Inspector Stanley Amewoyi told the court presided over by Mr Osei Kwame that on May 11, Abeli broke into the room of Mr Kwaku Sarfo, a teacher at Atobiase and stole his personal effects and hid them in the bush. These included a Samsung photo camera, shoes, eight VCD disc and a travelling bag.

Some school children who saw the accused commit the crime informed some residents of the town who arrested and handed over the suspect to the police.
