Pioneer Tobacco to change name

ACCRA, March 29 (Reuters) – Ghana’s Pioneer Tobacco Company said on Monday it planned to change its name to British American Tobacco Ghana Limited.

Managing Director James Idun-Ogde told Reuters this was part of an effort by parent British American Tobacco to promote a single identity worldwide.

The proposal to change the name is subject to approval at Pioneer’s annual meeting on April 14.
