Muslim Mission constructs underground water tank

Beposo (Ash), May 19, GNA – The members of the Ashanti regional branch of Ghana Muslim Mission (GMM) is contributing over 55 million cedis towards the construction of an underground water tank for its hospital at Beposo in the Sekyere West district.

They have so far spent 40 million cedis on the project, which can contain 20,000 gallons of water.

Alhaji Ibrahim Baryeh, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the GMM, announced this at a fund raising rally organised by the Beposo branch of the Mission to raise funds to purchase teaching and learning materials, and pay fees of needy Muslim students in the district.

He said the Mission would rehabilitate the town’s mosque at an estimated cost of 300 million cedis.

Alhaji Baryeh appealed to the youth not to allow self-seeking politicians to exploit their youthful exuberance to their advantage. “Use your energy and skills not only to support and promote the activities and programmes of the Mission and Islam but also to improve on your living standards”, he said.

Ten million cedis was realised at the function.
