Kumasi gets new car park

Kumasi, May 16 GNA – A new 20-million-cedi car park designed to help ease vehicular traffic in Kumasi has been inaugurated. It has a capacity to accommodate 400 cars and would be managed by a UK-based Company, R.B.F. Limited.

Mr Francis Kwaku Duah, Director of the Company, said users of the park would pay a flat fee of 6,000 cedis each. The facility is located near the Centre for National Culture (CNC).

Mr Duah spoke of plans by his Company to build an ultra modern car park and provide recreational facilities in the metropolis and appealed to Chiefs and other landowners to assist them to acquire lands for these projects.

Mr Anthony Akwasi Ampong, the Metropolitan Co-ordinating Director, said the KMA would ensure that Kumasi is decongested and the hawkers and traders properly resettled.

He called for the co-operation and understanding of the residents to help bring some level of sanity on the streets of the metropolis. 16 May 05
