Catholic Bishop inaugurates projects

Mpasaso (Ash), May 13, GNA-A number of projects funded by the Catholic Church have been inaugurated at Mpasaso Number Two in the Ahafo-Ano South district on Friday.

They include a block of 10 classrooms, an office, store, a borehole and a place of convenience.

The Right Reverend Peter Atuahene, Catholic Bishop of Goaso, who performed the ceremony, said it was the church’s contribution towards the improvement of education in the area.

He advised the people to take good care of the facilities so that they could last long.

Nana Ampofo Twumasi II, chief of the town, thanked the Catholic Church for the assistance and called on other religious bodies to emulate the gesture.

He also commended Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, for a being instrumental in a number of projects in the area, under the Asanteman Council’s Promoting Partnerships with Traditional Authorities Project (PPTAP).

Nana Twumasi called on the youth in the town to guard against the illegal chainsaw operations.
