Private schools asked to put teachers on right salary scale

New Edubiase (Ash), May 11, GNA-The management of private educational institutions has been urged to put teachers working in that sector on the same salary levels as their counterparts in the public schools.

Mr Joseph K. Onyinah, Adansi South District Director of Education, who made the appealed, said all teachers irrespective of the sector in which they teach should be placed on salary scales that commensurate with their ranks.

The educationist, who was addressing the graduation ceremony of 28 Junior Secondary School (JSS) students of the Cann Memorial School at New Edubiase, expressed dissatisfaction that some private schools paid teachers far below the minimum wage.

Mr Onyinah also asked the schools to keep their environment clean to promote the health of school students and staff.

Madam Alice Cann, proprietress of the school, commended the Parent-Teacher Association for contributing to the development of the educational institution and urged the old students to support the school.
