Kumasi, May 5, GNA – A Kumasi circuit court has fined eight illegal lotto operators three million cedis each. They all pleaded guilty.

Police Chief Inspector Agnes Dinkyini told the court presided over by Mr Mensah Essel that the accused were arrested on May 3 by a team of policemen and a task force of “Asare Original Pay All,” following a tip-off that some people had been selling fake lotto coupons to unsuspecting members of the public.

She said the eight were found at different places in the Kumasi metropolis, including the Roman Hill, Aboabo, Old Tafo and Oforikrom in possession fake Asare Original Pay All lotto booklets. She said during interrogation, they admitted operating lotto illegally. 05 May 05
