Student jailed for stealing

Twifo Praso (C/R), April 29, GNA – Thomas Larbi, a 20-year old student, has been sentenced by a magistrate court at Twifo-Praso to six months’ imprisonment for stealing a bicycle valued at 350,000.00 cedis. Larbi, who has a previous conviction for stealing, pleaded guilty. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector George Okine told the court that on January 25, the son of the complainant, Mr Salifu Tayiru, parked his bicycle in front of his father’s shop.

The complainant, who was serving customers, later realized that the bicycle had been stolen. On April 18, one Amponsah Wilson was spotted riding it and when he was questioned he said it was Larbi who gave it to him.
