Akrofoum (Ash), April 21, GNA- Mr Dominic A.K. Yeboah, acting District Chief Executive for Adansi South, has advised Ghanaians to desist from accusing District Chief Executives(DCE) for under-development.
He said development was the collective responsibility of the district assemblies and not the sole discretion of a DCE. Mr Yeboah gave the advice at a People’s Assembly at Adansi Akrofoum in the Adansi South District Assembly.
He said the award of contracts was the duty of district tender boards that comprised mainly of assembly members. Nana Sam Appiah-Danquah, Assistant District Director of Education in charge of Human Resource, said about 284 teachers were needed in the area to fill vacant positions.
He said the District Education Directorate could not engage the services of some 567 people who applied as pupil teachers, due to an embargo placed on the exercise and appealed to the Government to review the decision.
Mr Joseph K. Boamong, Obuasi Metropolitan Chief Executive appealed to the Adansi Traditional Council to speed up the process of settling chieftaincy cases in the area to facilitate development.
