Court remands accused for assaulting his grandmother

Mankranso (Ash), April 20, GNA- The Mankranso Magistrate Court on Tuesday, remanded a 21-year-old man in police custody for assaulting his 65-year-old grandmother, Yaa Yadeyeya.

Yaw Acheampong who pleaded guilty would re-appear on April 26. Police Inspector Abraham Adjei Mensah, told the court presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that at about 1900 hours in April 18, this year, the accused attacked his grandmother with a stone without provocation and injured her left hand.

Inspector Mensah said Acheampong’s siblings arrested and handed him over to the Police while his grandmother was treated and discharged at the Mankranso District Hospital.
