Twenty-eight Students absent on the first day of BECE

Koforidua, April 18, GNA – Nana Adjei Boateng, the acting New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, on Monday expressed concern at the absence of 28 candidates on the first day of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the municipality. He appealed to Ms Felicia Duku, the acting Municipal Director of Education, to investigate to avoid future occurrence.

Nana Adjei Boateng said this when he and officials from the Municipal Directorate of Education toured the eight examination centres in the municipality.

They noticed that out of the 2,915 candidates registered for the examination, 14 boys and 14 girls were absent. Last year, 2,735 candidates wrote the examination in the municipality.
