Indisciplined Students Will Be Handed to the Police

The Brong Ahafo Regional of Education, Mrs. Akua Debrah has stated that any student who would be caught to have indulged in any social vices such as wee smoking, hooliganism and acts of vandalism in their respective schools, would not only face dismissal, but would also be handed over to the police to face the law.

She noted that occultism, student unrests and other immoral practices are becoming rampant in our second cycle institutions which need to be checked.

Mrs Debrah said this when she inaugurated the Board of governors for the Yamfo Anglican Secondary School at Yamfo in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The statement came as a result of the hint dropped by the Headmaster of the school, Mr. George Abiw Abaidoo, that some of his students were caught smoking wee but he could only deboardinise them since he had no board of governors to advice him on what to do at the time.

Mrs. Debrah added that rude behaviour in some schools is as a result of drug influence and tasked students to be morally upright to become good leaders.

She also charged stakeholders and members of the various communities in which such schools are situated, to guard against indiscipline so as to maintain and protect the limited existing facilities in schools.

Mr. Debrah advised the Board members to work to ensure total development of the school.
