Abandoned post office converted to police station

Mabang (Ash), April 14, GNA-The chiefs and people of Mabang in the Ahafo-Ano North District in the Ashanti Region are converting an abandoned post office building under rehabilitation into a police station.

The police station in the town has been temporarily closed down following a misunderstanding between the Police Administration and the landlord of the three-room rented premises, which personnel of the Service had occupied since 1976.

Mr Kwaku Poku, an assemblyman for the area, who called for public support said the District Assembly, had committed 1.7 million cedis towards the project.
