NADMO donates to fire victims

Ejisu (Ash), April 7, GNA – The Ashanti regional secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) on Tuesday donated 10 million cedis and four packets of roofing sheets to two fire victims in the Ejisu-Juaben district.

Madam Akosua Gyinaye of Asotwe, whose house and properties were burnt down in January this year, received five million cedis and two packets of roofing sheets.

Madam Akosua Anokyewaa of Akyinakrom, whose house and properties also got burnt in February this year, received five million cedis and two packets of roofing sheets.

Mr Clement Manu, Ejisu-Juaben District Co-ordinator of NADMO, who presented the items to the victims, thanked the regional secretariat and the district assembly for assisting the victims. He appealed to NGOs and other philanthropists to go to the aid of the victims to enable them put up their houses.

Mr Manu also appealed to the security agencies and the Forestry Commission to check illegal timber operations in the district. 07 April 05
