Municipal Assembly rehabilitates roadnetwork

Asueyi, (B/A) March 30, GNA – The Techiman Municipal Assembly is spending about 40 million cedis towards the construction of the six-kilometer feeder road that leads from Asueyi to Tenabia both farming communities in the area and also create access roads to the New Krobo, a suburb of Techiman Municipality.

Mr. Isaac Osei -Antwi, Techiman Municipal Chief Executive announced this when he led a team of Newsmen to inspect the roads on Monday and said the project would facilitate the movements of the people and their farming produce to facilitate the development of the communities.

Mr. Osei-Antwi also said a total mileage of 50-kilometers of roads in the Techiman town were also to be constructed and that officials of the Department of Urban Roads have already settled in the area to begin work on the project.

The roads include, Techiman Ahenebronoso-Zongo, Kenten to Mampursiline Area, Dwomo Road, Tunsuase, Takofiano, Wiawso and Abanim. According to the Chief Executive, drainage systems would first be constructed after which the roads would be re-gravelled before being surfaced with bitumen to provide a very fine facelift for the areas. Mr. Christopher Dabuo, the Accountant at the Techiman Municipal Office of the Department of Urban Roads disclosed that they were expecting funds on the project very soon to start the project.
