Ensure cleanliness – Christians urged

Ekumfi Otuam, March 28, GNA – The District Chief Executive for Mfantseman, Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur has called on Christians not to make the adage “cleanliness is next to Godliness” a mere rhetoric. We should take sanitation seriously to promote not only our health but also our relationship with God, he stated.

Mr. Quainoo-Athur who was addressing an Easter Convention of the Mfantseman District of the Assemblies of God Church at Otuam, expressed concern about sanitation in the cities, towns and villages and said since Christians also contributed to the problem they should be part of the solution.

The DCE advised Church leaders to organise their members to undertake clean-up exercises as an example for others to emulate. Mr Quainoo-Arthur also advised them to use the good relationship between the Church and the government to initiate programmes to enhance the wellbeing of the people.

Mr George Kuntu-Blankson, MP for Mfantseman East urged Christians to keep politicians on their toes to promote good governance. The Reverend Fred Kyereko, Principal of the Southern Ghana Bible College at Kormantse near Saltpond, in a sermon urged Ghanaians to do away with what he called “tear down ones opponent” and to encourage their neighbours to succeed.

The theme of the five-day convention was “Faithfulness in Service”. Some of the topics treated were “Holy Spirit Baptism” and “the Christian and tithing”.

There was a marriage counselling and a seminar on God’s financial principles.
