Mankranso (Ash), March 27, GNA – The Mankranso magistrate court last week remanded a 60-year-old farmer in prison custody for threatening three persons at Kyekyewere near Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano North District.
David Mahama Kusasi pleaded guilty to the charge and would re-appear on April 5.
The victims, Ben Mahama and Kwame Dapaah are his sons, while Seidu Sandi is his brother-in-law.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Prosper Yao Aheto told the court presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that at about 1900 hours on March 3, this year, a quarrel ensued between the accused and Seidu over some stolen money belonging to Kusasi.
In the course of the quarrel, the prosecution said Kusasi picked up a cutlass and inflicted wounds on the head and right arm of Seidu. The prosecution said following shouts by Seidu for help, the other two came to his rescue.
Chief Inspector Aheto said the accused then turned to them and also inflicted cutlass wounds on Dapaah and Mahama.
He said a report was made to the unit committee of the town and Kusasi was arrested and handed over to the Tepa police, who after investigations charged him with the offence.
