Accra, March 20 GNA – Right Reverend Joseph E. Ebe-Arthur, a retired Minister of the Calvary Methodist Church (CMC) on Sunday called on Christians to lead exemplary lives that reflect the teaching of Christ.
He also urged Christians to show compassion and contribute their widow might towards the well- being of the poor and vulnerable in society.
Rev. Ebe-Arthur, who made the statement was delivering a sermon on the festival of ten lessons and songs organized by the CMC to mark the Palm Sunday in Accra.
The service, which was held in jubilant mood, attracted large number of faithful who sang and waved their palm fronds as the choruses invaded the airwaves.
Palm Sunday is celebration by Christians all over the world to commemorate the triumphant entry of Christ and his disciples to Jerusalem.
Rev. Ebe-Arthur noted that the triumphant entry was significant and symbolic as it manifested to the Jews that Christ was the Messiah that all Israel had been waiting to come.
He said the day was special to Christians because it reminds them of Christ’s pain, crucifixion and the resurrection.
He also used the occasion to advise Ghanaians not do anything to disturb the peace and stability that the country was enjoying. He called for concerted effort from all individuals and organizations for the total development of the country.
