Three narcotic drug dealers remanded

Agona Swedru, March 18, GNA – The Agona Swedru Circuit Court Presided over by Mr Charles Adjei Wilson has remanded three suspected cocaine and India hemp dealers in prison custody.

They are George Offei, Ebo Gaisie and Kobina Appiah, all traders at Agona Swedru.

Their pleas were not taken and they would reappear before the court on 19 April 2005.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector N. Koffie told the court that there had been an upsurge of reports of people dealing in cocaine and India hemp recently at Agona Swedru.

He said on February 27, 2005 Police personnel from Agona Nyakrom, Nsaba, Apam, Mankrong Junction, Awutu Bawjiase and Agona Swedru led by ASP Alex Acquah swooped in on the hide out of the criminals and 18 suspects were arrested.

Chief Inspector Koffie told the court that the 18 were screened and the three were found to be the real dealers in the area. He said a quantity of a whitish substance suspected to be cocaine and India hemp and five long bones suspected to that of human beings were seized during the operation. 18 March 05
