Fraud case involving Nana Akwasi Agyeman dismissed

Kumasi, March 17, GNA – A Kumasi circuit court on Thursday dismissed a fraud case against Nana Akwasi Agyeman, a former Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive and his wife Nana Ama Serwaa. The prosecution told the court that Nana Akwasi Agyeman had refunded to the police the 30 million cedis he was said to have collected from a Kumasi businesswoman under the pretext of renting out a shop to her.

Chief Inspector J.K. Afful told the court presided by Mr Ernest Yao Obimpeh that lack of communication between the police and the woman prompted her proceed to the law court.

Nana Agyeman was personally not in court when the case was called but his counsel, Mr Michael Owusu, informed the court that he was indisposed.

On the March 12 the court ordered Nana Akwasi Agyeman and his wife to appear before it and answer charges of fraud preferred against them.
