Fraudster appear before court

Sekondi, March 14, GNA- A Sekondi District Magistrate’s Court on Monday sentenced Nana Yaw Wiredu, a self-styled security officer, to 15 months imprisonment in hard labour for defrauding. He pleaded guilty.

Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Philip Obeng said the accused introduced himself to Mark Yalley, a farmer at Kejebil, as a security officer. Sergeant Obeng said the accused asked Yalley to give him 20,000 cedis for him to arrange his enlistment into the Ghana Army.

He said the accused failed to honour his promise and Yalley reported the matter to the Police.
