Sierra Leone Police Dies On Training in Ghana

Freetown — Sierra Leone Police Assistant Director of Training, Abu Mansaray died last Friday in Accra, Ghana whilst attending a two-week training course in that country.

Sergeant Umaru Sesay of the Police Media Unit said the deceased died of cardiac attack after presenting his paper during the programme.

“We received the news with great shock because it is an irreparable loss to the force,” he said, adding that the deceased is a very senior officer who played an instrumental role in the transformation of the Criminal Investigation Department.

Sesay says the corpse was supposed to have arrived last Friday but he didn’t give details when the funeral will take place.

Mansaray had earlier survived a similar attack at a UNAMSIL workshop before he left for Accra.
